Brantham Athletic also have a Sunday team who play in the Ipswich Sunday League. The team had a great cup run in 2007/08 reaching the semi-final of the FA Sunday Cup, just missing out on a place in the final (Played at Anfield) losing 1-2 against Coundon Conservative.
By 2004 Brantham had dropped into Division One of the Suffolk & Ipswich League. However, they were promoted to the Senior Division after finishing 2nd in 2004-05. They won the title in 2007-08, and were promoted back to the Eastern Counties League.
Two years later in the 1995/96 season they were relegated to the Suffolk & Ipswich League after finishing 18th out of 19 clubs. At the end of that season Brantham Athletic folded completely. As a result Brantham merged with Stutton Football Club to become Brantham & Stutton United. A couple of years later the club reverted back to its old name incorporating Stutton F.C.
Brantham Athletic Football Club was founded in 1887, the club joined the Eastern Counties League in 1978/79 and achieved their highest ever finish of 4th in 1982/83, the same season in which they reached the fifth round of the FA Vase competition, losing 1-0 at home to VS Rugby in front of a record crowd of 1,700. When the Eastern Counties League gained a second tier in 1988/89, the club was placed in the Premier Division. However, they were relegated to Division One in 1992/93 after finishing second from bottom.
